LOSC Lille Lorient Match Preview
Lille got a 1:1 draw against Bordeaux away from home. In first half Lille were more dangerous than Bordeaux and they deservedly took the lead 10 minutes before half time. Striker Moussa Sow scored his 10th league game this season. Rami provided assist. In second half Bordeaux didn't star play better, but they were again lethal when it came to set pieces. Plasil crossed the ball from free kick, Ciani put the pressure on Adil Rami and Lille's centre back scored an own goal with his head. It happened just 6 minutes after the break. Both teams had their chances to grab all 3 points, but goalkeeper Landreau was better than Bordeaux's striker Moussa Maazou and offensive midfielder Hazard and substitute de Melo were unable to convert their chances for Lille. Again Bordeaux was nothing special and again they did not loose. In my opinion it was unfair result. On Wednesday Lille lost 0:1 to Sporting away from home in Europa League. Striker Pierre Alain Frau, some players had minor injuries, but they are all in match squad.
Lorient won 2:0 against Rennes at home. In fist half Lorient tried to build up pressure and Rennes tried counter attacks. Both sides could have very good, one on one with goalkeeper chances, but had problems with... ball control. In second half Rennes still had problems with ball control and were close to score an own goal.. In 61th minute Romao taped-in goal for Lorient. Some Rennes could argue that Romao should not be on the pitch anymore as he commit brutal foul in last minutes of the first half. Rennes were unable to fight back and Lorient were danger only from set pieces, but this was enough to score another goal and won whole game 2:0. Deserved win, but maybe 1:0 would be more fair. Very important points for Lorient. Important centre back Bruno Manga is out just like important midfielder Diarra.
Prediction: I wrote often that Lorient deserve for more and it's true - they deserve, but probably not away from home against one of the best team in the league. Home win.
