Nancy Valenciennes Match Preview

Nancy lost 1:2 to Bordeaux away from home. Bordeaux did it again - again they were lethal mainly thanks to set pieces - they created danger from corner kicks and free kicks. They scored two headers: first, just 20 minutes after kickoff from corner kick and second 2 minutes before Full Time from free kick. Nancy scored equalizer 7 minutes before full time (Bordeaux complain about off side, manager Tigana is send off - hot atmosphere), but free kick by Plasil and a header by Wendel gave Bordeaux all 3 points. It was really bizarre situation, because Wendel touch the ball with his hand and also it looks like ball actually did not went to the net - it hit the post and went back, never crossed the goal line. Strange situation. All in all, Nancy was unable to do anything in attack, they had lucky chance and they converted it. Bordeaux were dangerous, but only thanks to set pieces. Fair result, but something like 1:0 would be more fair. By the way: if some teams learn how to stop Bordeaux's set pieces this team will be harmless. Important offensive midfielder Vahirua is back to squad, he missed last game, because of family issues. Regular right fullback Mickael Chretien is out just like striker Bakar who is out too. Important defensive midfielder Pascal Bérenguer is back to the squad, he was out since September.

Valenciennes did not play in last week. Regular striker Samassa (3 goals in 7 games) is still injured. Important left attacking midfielder Gael Danic (3 goals and 1 assist) is suspended.

Prediction: I will go for under 2.5 in this one as offensive power of both teams is not great at all.
