Sochaux Auxerre Match Preview

Sochaux lost 1:2 to Lyon away from home. Michel Bastos opened the score 31 minutes after a first whistle with left footed shoot. Sochaux had some chance to equalize in first half, but goalie Hugo Lloris was able to make a save. In second half Sochaux scored an equalizer thanks to Brian Ideye's calm shoot. Lyon tried to fight back and just three minute after a goal for Sochaux substitute Lacazette scored for Lyon. Sochaux was desperately to score another equalizer, but they had only a half chances to score from difficult angles. All in all Lyon should be considered lucky that they scored two goals in this game, because it's not something usually to score 2 goals from a half chances. I think that it was the best away performance of Sochaux so far, but still without points from away games. One of the best strikers Anin Maiga is back from suspension. Key centre back Damien Perquis had some minor injury during this week, but he is in the match sqaud and probably will play. Regular left fullback Yassin Mikari is still out. Ideye - best striker at the moment has some problems with his ankle and is doubtful.

Auxerre won 2:0 against Nice at home. Both team tried shoots from distance in first minutes, but goalkeepers were on the right place. Auxerre pushed more, but also Nice was dangerous thanks to counterattacks. Finally, in 43 minutes Birsa scored a header for Auxerre. Reserve offensive player - Julien Quercia did well too as he beat defenders and crossed the ball. In second half Nice tried to do something, but even clumsiness of Auxerre's goalie Sorin was not enough to score an equalizer. In 78 minute Pedretti scored for 2:0 and from this moment everything was clear. In midweek Auxerre won 2:1 against Ajax in Champions League. Auxerre doing fine lately. Finally. And they are still without best two strikers. Interesting. Regular right fullback Hengbart is injured. Best player, offensive midfielder Pedretti is out and this is really big blow. Three best strikers: Jelen, Le Talec and Oliech are all out, but Julien Quercia was really good in last week so this is not so big a deal. Small midfielder Sammaritano scored his first important goal for Auxerre against Ajax so maybe he will be able to replace Pedretti.

Prediction: I'm definitely not the biggest fan of Sochaux, but their home performance is something which I can not ignore. Pedretti is out and this means problems for Auxerre. Hard game. No bet.
