PSG Arles Match Preview
PSG lost 1:3 to Sochaux away from home and this game was a nightmare! First, PSG had some chances to open the score, but they failed to convert them. Then Sochaux scored after first dangerous counter. Goalie Gregory Coupet could do better in this one in my opinion. 6 minutes later it was 2:0 for Sochaux who fell really comfortable in counter attacks. This time Coupet was guilty for sure, he is not a youngster, he should save this one. At the end of the first half things went even worse for PSG as they conceded third goal, of course after a corner kick like in every of last 4 games. Early strike of Horau in second half was only a consolation goal for PSG as guest very unable to put Sochaux on really big pressure. In last minutes subs bench defensive midfielder Jeremy Clement got a red card.
Arles-Avignon was very unlucky in last game when they lost 0:1 to Rennes at home. They were better in first part of the match. Camel Meriem showed nice passing skills, but Avignon's strikers were ineffective. Rennes thanks to former Montpellier's stiker Hugo Montano took the lead. Columbian striker fired from distance well. Then Arles had another chances, but Charisteas hit the post. Later, when Arles played tried to pushed harder Rennes has some good chances, but Gyan and co were unable to convert them.
Arles-Avignon has new experienced player. They already had Greeks International - midfielder Basinas, striker Charisteas and Frenchman, offensive midfielder Camel Meriem. Now they signed contract with 30 years old centre back Francesco Pavon - a player who played over 60 times for Real Madrid (including all competitions). He has a big Champions League experience. In last 3 seasons he played for Saragossa. Another new face is a 20 years old striker Johnathan loaned in from Brazilian league.
Prediction: Arles has more and more big names, but is still without any point. It's hard to imagine that this time will be different. Both teams are desperate for a positive result, of course for different reason. PSG at home should win this one, but with those odds they are not worth a try. No bet.
