Levante Villarreal Match Preview
Levante
Injury: Juanlu, Pallardó, Serrano
Villarreal
Injury: Borja, Cani, Catalá, Rossi
As we expected Levante were outplayed by Malaga in the last meeting, but the worse thing for the Valencia’s side was that their first decent counter was made in the end of the first half. After the break Ghezal demonstrated activeness and alongside Kone he had two or three good chances. Cabral and El Zahr also were pretty close to equalize at the end of the match. The decreasing percentage of the Levante’s ball possession is getting really disturbing.
Borja and Cani are out for Vilarreal, but Marco Ruben is fit after he appeared as a substitution against Getafe. The Yellows were pushing in that match, but there wasn’t high organization in the up- front actions. The movement of the ball was pretty slow at most of the time and the lack of sharp passes and the scoring chances was obvious. With the forced changes in the midfield we expect that criteria to be even worse. As it seems Villarreal will not play at their own half and could become victims to the counter style of the hosts; the bad defending is another minus. On the other hand the successive games where Levante play their passive football are too many and we are tempted to put some money on the draw.
