The Lorient defence was playing too far from their box in most of the time against Valenciennes. That gave to much space for the opponents’ strikers and if we add the bad luck of  Emeghara and Monnet- Paguet we could answer why Lorient are dropping in the table so fast. The Gourcuff’s men don’t have a place for retreat after they were just few points under the European spots’ line and now are among the worst clubs in Ligue 1.

The most active player in the Rennes’ attack Erding is injured and considering their unconvincing play on the road, that should be a factor in the match. The guests have better individuals, but some of them (Pitroipa for example) are not in the best form. Rennes were outplayed by Lille in the last encounter and after both sides had opposite luck in the last week we could give some credit to the hosts, who showed positive sign in the attack.
