Man United Liverpool Manchester United- Liverpool
Manchester United
Out: Fletcher, Jones, Lindegaard, Anderson, Owen, Vidic, Nani
Doubts: Smalling
De Gea is still unconvincing with the high balls in the box, but we saw few very good interceptions by him against Chelsea. The understanding Van der Saar gave his support to the young (and expensive) goalkeeper and it could make him more confident in the important clashes. The bad news is about the defence. The central full-backs lost many fights in the air, but we believe it wouldn’t be repeated as Rio has more than decent chances to beat Carroll. The offensive line is adjusting regarding the opponents and we say that Fergusan is doing job in that department pretty good- he succeeded to catch the best moments of the Hernandez’ bad period and to squeeze the maximum effectiveness from the Premier League’s top scorer Berbatov. Against the top rivals in the league United control the ball and score many hits, despite the missing players in the midfield.
Liverpool
Out: Lucas, Robinson, Wilson
Doubts: Enrique
Liverpool are more effective on the road and probably Dalglish is right to say that his side deserved more points at the played home battles. Looking at their midfield, we could say that it is better with Gerard trying to be a real skipper and the attack builder of the team. However, he is not well supported by his colleagues- Spearing makes too many wrong passes even when he is not disturb by a rival. Adam looks a little bit clumsy and the good start of the season for Henderson and Downing is already forgotten. Defensively, they perform pretty well with Skrtel and Agger in- form. The biggest minus is the inconsistent attack- the best striker lately Bellamy remains the mean threat to the Red Devils. Suarez wasn’t in his best fitness condition and considering his long absence it would be a tough match for him and we don’t expect to stay on the pitch at the whole 90 minutes.
The Odds for United are rising (but we believe it wouldn’t be one- way movement) and considering the great mood in the club after the impressive three- hits comeback in London, it could be considering as value bet.
Tip: Asian Handicap (Manchester United -0.5)- Odds: 1.93 Stake: 8/10
