Coyle is the new Bolton manager

The ex-Burnley manager will be the replacement of Gary Megson, who was sacked on 30 December. The Scottish was the main target for a manager, and Phil Gartside will be pleased with the appointment. Owen Coyle leaves Burnley at 14th place, two points clear of the relegation zone.

Coyle and Burnley will be meeting on 26 January, when Bolton hosts his ex-team. Meanwhile, Steve Davies has been appointes as a caretaker at the Clarets.
