Wigan was in urgent need of second-choice keeper, as the teams regular substitute, Richard Kinson, went to African Cup of Nations. Now, as the season-long loan of Vladimir Stojkovic from Sporting Lisbon has been completed, Roberto Martinez could be relieved he has an adequate cover for Chris Kirkland.
