Last week medicals have found that Sergio Sanchez is suffering from a heart disease and recommended that he should put an end to his career as a footballer. His team didn't wait for thorough examinations and secured a substitute for him. His name is Marius Stankevicuis, Lithuanian national player Nervión taken from Sampdoria. He is 28 years old, play in the defense line, usually in the centre but could also take errands also on the right side. The player will come on loan with a option for purchase at the end of the season. Sevilla were also interested in Marco Motta but Roma refused to put a buy out option.
Stankevicius has more than 30 appearance in the last five seasons in the Calcio as Sampdoria signed him last year from Brescia. He is regular international and in fact he faced Spain squad in 2004 for the World Cup qualifications.
