Genoa could move for Materazzi

Genoa are having the second worst defense in Serie A. Therefore, their main objective is to bring in an experienced central defender. Their first aim was Rafa Marques, but the Mexican is content with his role as a substitute in the Blaugrana.

Therefore, Preziosi has switched to Marco Materazzi. But the transfer will be difficult due to financial reasons - the Italian national has signed a contract until 2012 getting 3m euros per year. This is outside the available budget of Genoa, so a loan move is more likely than a permanent move.
