Kevin Prince Boateng will miss the African Nations Cup

To Boateng displeasure and much to Pompey delight, the attacking midfielder will miss the African Nations Cup. The Football Federation of Ghana could not manage in time to prove the African descent of the player before the FIFA officials. Still, the Berlin-born midfielder holds his hopes for a South African endeavor with the Black Star's squad later this year, and believes that saving Portsmouth from relegation could secure him a ticket.

Boateng has banged 3 goals for Pompey, and will be a much needed player in January, given that Hassan Yebda, Kanu, Aruna Dindane and Belhadj will all be missing for the African Nations Cup.
