Hugo Sanchez is fired as a coach of Almeria

Hugo Sanchez was fired yesterday after the defeat against Espanyol, 2-0, in the game of the fifteenth day of the Spanish La Liga.

Almeria take the seventeenth position in the standings, after having 13 points thanks to three wins and four draws.

Hugo Sanchez, who helped his team to reach the top flight of Spanish football last season, was dismissed after a meeting with the club's board. The decision was taken after the team only managed to get four points from a possible 24 in the last eight games. Almeria vice-president, Ricardo Martinez, also added that " the given circumstances had made this decision. I'm sure that Hugo Sanchez is a good coach, but was unlucky. Now finding the right coach will be very complicated as no one logically will be 100% committed to ensuring the salvation of the team from relegation."
