Hertha and Leverkusen agreed on deal for Gekas

"He is an interesting player, something we do not need to talk. He knows the league," Friedhelm Funkel had expressed his interest in mid-November for Leverkusen's Theofanis Gekas.The two clubs have come to an agreement and now the ball is in the striker.

The player is likely to accept the offer as he wants to gain more match practice in order to prepare for the World Cup. In an interview for "BZ" he revealed " I want to play more...Hertha is much better than their current table position. The deal is for lending the player until the end of the season with a buy option option after that.
