Plymouth's highly-rated young defender Jamie Richards is a courted player.

Tottenham are said to be ready to sign him as a full-time professional. Manchester United have also been scouting Richards, but since the family of the defender are London it seems more likely to choose Spurs for his football education.

The giant centre back has flourished in Argyle's youth teams and is set to move to the Premier League.

Richards would cost Spurs a compensation fee of around £500,000 but rising over appearances.
