PSG with 3-1 against Braga before the Friday nght derby
| Paris Saint-Germain prepared for Friday’s trip to Marseille in style with a 3-1 win over Portuguese leaders Sporting Braga. The match was notable for Zoumana Camara gracing the Parc des Princes for the first time this season after recovering from phlebitis. | |
| Central defender Camara has been much missed this season by the capital club and the popular 30-year-old is returning to full fitness at just the right time with the swine flu-delayed game at the Stade Vélodrome looming large on the horizon.
Midfielder Clément Chantôme scored the opening two PSG goals and laid on an assist for Yannick Boli to add a late third, shortly after Boli had come on for Turkish international striker Mevlut Erding, another player in need of playing time after a recent comeback from shoulder surgery. Camara was delighted to get 90 minutes under his belt. He said: "I've already played games with the reserves and I've been back training for a while now. To play at the Parc again is a real pleasure. It was a good, tough game. It was a good work out and ended in a win. It's great to be back with my teammates out there on the pitch in a game." Coach Antoine Kombouaré added: "In friendly matches, it's the attitude, the spirit that makes the difference, how capable you are of approaching the game seriously. We were very professional, even if there's still a lot of work to be done. We now have a great week ahead of us, and the game against Marseille to cap it off on Friday." Ligue 1 |
