Neuer is likely to replace van der Saar.

It is clear that Foster will not be trusted as goalkeeper for Man UTD. The German international Manuel Neuer looks like the successor to Edwin van der Sar at Manchester United, with a renewed bid for the Schalke  goalkeeper expected next summer.

United’s scouts have been watching Neuer all season and the Bundesliga side are now expecting to lose him and are holding out for £15million. Even if United offer about £12m, this would still be a British record for a goalkeeper. Sources at Schalke say United have already made one bid,which was not accepted. 

Neuer has attracted the strongest interest of Man UTD, as Igor Akinfeev and Rene Adler were also scouted.
