Sanchez Flores - Atletico's new coach

Atletico Madrid have decided to let Abel Resino go after eight months of service and sign Sanchez Flores as coach until the end of the season. Resino was fired due to the poor performance of the team so far. Atletico have won only one game since the beginning of this season and thus are 15th in La Liga. The Champions League situation is quite similar after the team's defeat at Chelsea, 4-0.

Flores is a former Real Madrid and Valencia defender, who managed to take Benfica to third place in the Portuguese league before stepping down. His skills and tactics will be extremely valuable to Atletico Madrid as the team has the worst defensive record in La Liga, having conceded 17 goals in seven games
