Villa interested in Warnock

Aston Villa have confirmed they are negotiating with Blackburn Rovers the transfer of Stephen Warnock.

Moreover, rovers boss Sam Allardyce claimed the ex-Liverpool defender, 27, was distracted by transfer rumours.

Villa are looking to strengthen their defence after the retirement of centre-half Martin Laursen and the long-term absence of left-back Wilfred Bouma.
