Africa Cup of Nations (23.01.2012)
For today:
Correct scores
Gabon- Niger 1-0, 2-1, 2-0
Morocco- Tunisia 0-0 1-1 2-1
Gabon are one of the hosts of the tournament. They achieved a surprising victory at under-23 level at the recent African Olympic qualifiers in Morocco and we expect to see at least five of these young players today. The expectations from the manager Gernot Gohr are very high and the people want to see the success of the first team. Niger are debutants with no experience and have presented very bad in their away appearances in the qualifications. This group would be a huge test for them and each point could be counted as a golden one.
The old and well known rivals Morocco and Tunisia should provide a competitive battle. However, we put a little advantage to Morocco considering the new wave of players in their football- Marouane Chamakh, Mbark Boussoufa, Mehdi Carcela and Oussama Aissadi. Tunisia were even lucky to catch the last train to Gabon and we hardly believe they are capable to build a squad equal to this in 2004. After all, it wouldn’t be a one- side match.
