Gerard out for a month

Gerard out for a month

Friday , 11.03.2011

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard has undergone surgery on his groin and will be out for up to four weeks. He was not part of the Reds squad which travelled to Braga for Thursday's Europa League defeat.  Gerrard suffered the injury in the 1-0 win against Chelsea on 6 February at Stamford Bridge. The news is very frustrating for Kenny Dalglish, because few days after recovery of Andy Carroll the next misfortune has come.

Liverpool are fighting for top five in Premier League and the skipper will miss at least for three games (against Sunderland, West Bromich and Mancester City).

The Reds have to overturn a 1-0 deficit when they play Braga in the second leg at Anfield next Thursday with out the international midfielder. We have to admit that Steven Gerrard is still too important for the club and probably there will be consequences
