The captain of Bayern (Munich) and the German national team Philip Lahm was involved in investigations of the Bochum match-fixing scandal in Germany. According to the magazine “Der Spiegel” chief culprit Mario C. testified against the defender of the German champion.

Among the suspected involvement of players in match-fixing is a player of the elite German club St. Pauli. The remaining suspects are playing in teams of lower divisions. Two weeks ago the former player of the St. Pauli Rene Schnitzler admitted that he had received 100,000 euros to manipulate five games of the German second division in 2008. (AP)
