Mark Van Bommel in AC Milan

 Netherlands captain Mark van Bommel has left Bayern Munich to join AC Milan on a free transfer (BBC). He was voted the Bayern Player of the year for the 2006/07 season, the first non-German captain of the team. The 34-year-old midfielder asked to be released from his contract at Bayern after being sidelined by coach Louis van Gaal.
